The Northeast Alabama Orchid Society will be having their February 13th meeting at 2:15 pm in the auditorium of the Berman Museum of Fine Art in Anniston, Alabama. Please note that we will not be meeting at our usual venue of the Anniston Museum of Natural History for the next 3 months as they prepare for a major exhibit--"CHOCOLATE". Please feel free visit, ask questions how to grow, or just bring in your orchid to be assessed by the experts to help you keep your orchid alive, well, and flowering.

Northeast Alabama Orchid Society March 14th meeting

Northeast Alabama Orchid Society had its March 14th meeting at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. We had a great turnout of members. Three of our members (Judy Doyle,Becky and Junior Coxwell, and Glenn Bryant) brought orchid plants for our raffle. We raised $56.00 !! Our program was presented by our Pres. Glenn Bryant. A two part program; the first was a slide presentation of the orchids of the Philadelphia International Flower Show,and the second part was the official PIFS video of all of the displays seen at the show. Our sales table plants were provided by Becky and Junior Coxwell who brought many of their own orchid hybrids they crossed themselves and hybrids from some of the best Phalaenopsis orchid hybidizers in the country. I hope that everyone will come to our next meeting on April 11th,2010. We are also have a Facebook fan page that is loaded with more information. NORITO HASEGAWA SPEAKS AT THE NORTHEAST ALABAMA ORCHID SOCIETY!

The Northeast Alabama Orchid Society is honored to host speaker NORITO HASEGAWA of "Paphantics Unlimited", located in Orange, CA.

Norito Hasegawa is a highly respected, sought after orchid lecturer not only in the US, but internationally as well. This will be a wonderful chance to learn more about paphiopedilum orchids and to acquire a Hasegawa orchid cross as well.

His program: "WHATS NEW IN PAPHIOPEDILUMS", will be presented at the Anniston Museum of Natural History on Sept. 13 at 2:oo pm.

Over 30 years ago, Norito became a judge in both the Cymbidium Society of America and the American Orchid Society. His interest lies mainly in the hybridization of all Paphiopedilums and also the propagation of the Paphiopedilum species. He is a member of the Cymbidium Society of America and the American Orchid Society and numerous local societies in Southern California.

Several of Hasegawa's hybrid/specie plants from Paphanatics Unlimited will be available for sale. Visit Paphanatics Unlimited to view a flask list or to inquire on the availability of a specific orchid. We hope that you will attend this event.
