NEAOS at the HODOS Orchid Show in Huntsville,AL

For several years, the Northeast Alabama Orchid Society has been able to participate in the Heart of Dixie Orchid Society (HODOS) orchid show in Huntsville, AL.  This is always a wonderful show with great exhibits from orchid societies and orchid vendors from all over the South and beyond.  Above are two pics of the NEAOS 25ft orchid exhibit.  We were pleased that the judges gave it a blue ribbon.   The exhibit orchids, all owned by Becky and Junior Coxwell, received a blue ribbon , two red ribbons, and four yellow ribbons.  The orchids in this display were all multifloral phalaenopsis orchids.   This was also a historic orchid show in that Huntsville native and HODOS member Deb Delmas( picture 3) put in an educational exhibit on Neofinitia orchids that so impressed the AOS judges that it was given a provisional FCC award of 92 points!  The highest points awarded educational exhibit in the history of the American Orchid Society.

Speaker for April 29th Geraldine Powell

Hey Everyone! 
Just a reminder that we changed our regular meeting from April 8th to April 29th.  We also have a great guest speaker.  Geraldine Powell of The Orchid Gallery from Chattanooga, Tenn will be giving a program on Miltoniopsis ( or Pansy ) Orchids.  She will be bringing all kinds of orchids for sale, so please come visit, learn, and maybe grab an orchid for your Mom, or just yourself.  Hope to see you all there!
